Red Sox Rundown was created in February 2009 by a rabid Red Sox fan in exile whose husband was tired of hearing her prattle on about the Old Towne Team. Living in Virginia affords me little opportunity to interact with Red Sox fans who can pronounce Ellsbury’s first name and know the difference between Bombay and the Back Bay. Heck, it affords me little opportunity to interact with baseball fans, period. This lesson was brought home when my sister-in-law told me when she had worn a pair of Red Sox earrings, and a friend asked her what the classic B stood for. The Boston Red Sox, of course. “Oh,” the friend replied. “I don’t follow football.”
